Going to Colorado...

Hey all, on Saturday we are heading out to Monument, Colorado where we will be spending a week and a day at GEM's orientation. We will be doing some interviews, training and finding out more about heading out to Austria. Will you pray for us as this will be a busy week and a lot of information will be flying our way.

Just a plug for my favorite website.

New ministry and Fall plans

Hello again, we know what you're thinking, two updates in three days!?!?! We just wanted to let you know what is going on.

We are leading a teen alpha course on Wednesdays. This will help students get a better understanding of what Christianity is all about. Every Wednesday we will have dinner together, we will teach, and then we will have time to discuss the materials with the students after. It should be fun.

Our church's associate pastor took a lead pastoral job in Wisconsin starting this fall and he was leading the college and career group (CnC). Bobby was asked to take over as the interim CnC director. So every Tuesday night Bobby is giving a talk to the CnC group and (when he finds time) hanging out and developing relationships with the people in the group. It is a lot of fun because the group really loves God's word and want to go deep into theology.

Danielle is still volunteering with the 9th grade girls every Sunday night. Bobby stepped down as a discussion group leader because of the time commitment for CnC and Teen Alpha and a full time job.

We are planning on going to Colorado the first week of November for our mission organization's orientation. This is another step to heading back to Austria.

Other than working, that is about all for our plans this fall.

Summer Update

Hi all,

So we have been quite busy lately and haven't had much time to update our blog. Here is a brief update on our summer.

In June our friends from the Czech Republic, Hermajs and Aya, came to visit for the summer. Both of them became believers at an English camp in 2003 that Danielle and I were serving at with our church. We got to see them just about every month when we were living in Austria. They would come to visit us in Vienna and we would come visit them in the Czech Republic. This is a picture of us at Zpizza in Roseville (they have a gluten free pizza for Danielle).

In August we worked at another week long English camp with our church and the church in Letovice, Czech Republic. It was a great camp. God did some wonderful things. The first thing that we noticed was the unity of the American team from our church. This was Danielle's 7th and Bobby's 4th English camp and this was the most unified American team that we had been a part of. We met some new Czechs and got to know some friends that we had made over the past year a lot better. God moved 6 Czech hearts to follow him and that is the reason we go. We love to see God change lives around. A great story from this year is that a student from Bobby's class last year, Dagmar, became a believer in 2008 and she was part of the Czech leadership at this years camp!! God changes lives and it is so great to be able to see his movement. Please pray for the students who heard the gospel that God will move in their lives.

We got to spend a week in Austria at the end of our trip. During our time we got to see all of out GEM Austria team and many of our friends from the Mödling church. We spent some time touring Vienna and catching up with our friends Jacqueline and Lukas. They were a part of our young adults bible study last year and they got married this last May. We also got to see some other friends from the bible study and the youth group that we were involved in. It was so fun to see our church family in Mödling again. This is a picture of Jacqueline, Bobby, Danielle and Lukas and a random cobblestone ally in Vienna.

Thank you all for your prayers and support through this summer. We have had some hard times, but we have seen God move powerfully. Please continue to pray for us as we are in the process of applying for long term service in Austria.
